One app, two ways to use it

Paired with your desktop

Scan a QR code from Memorandai on your computer and the two connect directly over your home Wi-Fi. Your identity, keystones, and timeline flow to the phone so Helios knows you there too; notes, to-dos, ideas, and away-from-desk conversations flow home into your knowledge archive. Your desktop even becomes a full backup of the phone — delete the app, re-pair, and your chats, notes, and game progress come back.

Standalone — no desktop at all

No account, no pairing required. The capture tools and the games work entirely offline, and adding your own AI provider key (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or xAI) lights up the Helios chat — your key lives in the iOS Keychain and your conversations stay on the device.

What’s in it

☀️

Helios, anywhere

Chat by text or voice with the same identity you built on the desktop. Choose any provider you hold a key for — the header always shows which model is speaking.

📝

Capture tools

Notes, to-dos, and ideas — typed or dictated. Local-first on the phone; when paired, they land in your desktop Notebook and task lists.

📖

Book Club

Read a physical book alongside Helios — photograph each page and it reads blind with you, page by page, never ahead of you. Spoiler-proof by design.

🎮

A small arcade

Four memory-themed games — Memory Match, Echo Match, Constellations, and Sun Run — scored with real recorded piano and cello. Fully offline.

🃏

Flash cards & Oracle

Build decks and study them anywhere, or draw a quiet reading from the Oracle. Both work with no connection at all.

🔒

Private by architecture

No account. No analytics. No Memorandai servers. Sync is end-to-end encrypted over your own Wi-Fi, keys live in the iOS Keychain, and deleting the app removes them.

Pairing takes a minute

  1. 1 On your desktop, open Tools → Mobile Sync and turn on Wi-Fi sync — a QR code appears.
  2. 2 In Memorandai Go, tap Connect your desktop and scan the code. The encryption key travels only inside that QR — never over any network.
  3. 3 That’s it. The phone syncs whenever you open the app on the same Wi-Fi as your desktop; away from home, everything you capture waits and syncs when you’re back.

Requires Memorandai 0.9.8 or later on Windows or macOS — get the desktop app here.

The same privacy stance as the desktop

Memorandai Go follows the house rule: we operate no servers, so your data can’t be on them. Everything the app holds lives on your phone (and, when paired, on your own desktop). AI conversations go directly from your device to the provider you chose, on your own key. The one privacy policy covers both apps — the mobile specifics have their own section.

Mobile FAQs

Do I need the desktop app to use Memorandai Go?
No. Memorandai Go works standalone: the tools (notes, to-dos, ideas, flash cards, the Oracle), the games, and the Helios chat (with your own AI provider key) all work with no desktop, no account, and no pairing. Pairing with Memorandai on your desktop is what unlocks sync — your desktop context flows to the phone, and what you capture on the phone flows home.
Is Memorandai Go really free?
Yes, with an important caveat — the Memorandai Go app is free, with no account, subscription, or in-app purchases. Talking with Helios uses your own AI provider API key, billed by that provider at their rates, exactly like the desktop app; Memorandai is not in the middle there and gets no cut of whatever those AI providers bill you. API keys incur independent costs, so if you want the app to remain entirely free, simply don’t add an API key — understanding that the AI features are then fundamentally inaccessible. While the desktop version allows downloading local AI models for free operation, mobile devices don’t yet have that ability or the horsepower needed.
How does sync work? Is there a cloud?
There is no cloud. The phone and your desktop talk directly over your home Wi-Fi — end-to-end encrypted, paired with a QR code, with the key exchanged only on that QR. Your desktop profile is the source of truth: context syncs down, captures sync up, and your phone’s own data (chats, notes, flash cards, game progress) is backed up into your desktop profile. Delete the app, re-pair later, and it comes back — from your own machine, not ours. We operate no servers for any of it.
What happens to my API keys if I delete the app?
They’re removed. Keys live in the iOS Keychain, and Memorandai Go detects a fresh install and clears its Keychain entries — deleting the app means your keys are gone from the device. (You can also let your paired desktop push keys to the phone over the encrypted local connection, so you never type them on a phone keyboard.)
Is there an Android version?
Not yet — Memorandai Go launched on iOS first. If there’s demand for Android, it’s on the table; tell us at [email protected].
Why is Memorandai Go rated for adults?
Out of caution, not content. The tools and games are gentle — but the app includes an open-ended generative AI (Helios, running on your own provider key), and we won’t promise that an open-ended AI is always appropriate for children. The full reasoning is on the Age Suitability page.
